               Job Description                 

A food and beverage intern at Paradise Springs is responsible for providing quality services to our guests. An intern needs to be a team player and communicate effectively to meet the needs of our guests.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  •  Pursuing a college degree in hospitality
  • Two or more years of customer service experience
  • Must excel in a fast paced environment
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Handle and be trusted with money
  • Experience in solving problems quickly
  • Able to lift more than 30 pounds

                     New Skill & Knowledge Areas
  • I was a Bartender for two days. I learned the rules of bartending and how to make mixed drinks. I also learned how to make a good, quick first impression.
  • I was a Public Area Attendant for two days. I learned how to clean and properly maintain the park. This taught me to be more detailed orientated.
  • I was a server assistant for two days. I learned how to efficiently bring out orders in a timely manner and work as a member of a team.
  •  I networked with the Human Resources Department and was given the opportunity to shadow in the department. I learned how they communicate with employees, manage disputes, and provide employee moral.
                 Special Presentations
Every intern at the Gaylord Texan must complete the final project. This project must be completed in order to receive credit for your internship. Each intern is put in a group of five to create a presentation. This presentation is about your experience, how you were engaged, and how you will go forth and inspire. Every group presents to the Leadership Committee. This gives the interns one more opportunity to network with the leader of the company.  At the end of the presentation you could be offered a job position.
